Why volunteer

What you get out of it

Community involvement hours

Every session counts toward the 40 hours Ontario high school students need to graduate. Your hours are signed off by an adult supervisor.

Real-world skills

Teaching, patience, public speaking and customer service. The kind of experience that stands out on applications and résumés.

Someone's afternoon, made

Watching a resident see their grandchild on a video call for the first time is hard to beat.

Questions

All questions
Do I need to be good with technology?

You need to be comfortable with everyday phone and tablet tasks. Patience matters more than expertise, and the training covers how to explain things simply.

How are my hours confirmed?

Our Volunteer Coordinator records attendance at every session, and an adult supervisor (18+) reviews and signs your hour sheet.

Can I volunteer at more than one location?

Often, yes. Talk to our team after your first program and we'll find another spot for you.

Are there leadership roles?

Yes. The Volunteer Coordinator role is open now, and more leadership roles will open as we grow. Strong volunteers are the first people we ask.
